WE INVITE YOU to discuss freely and frankly with us questions you may have regarding and all aspects of the funeral including our services and fees. Funeral directors serve best when service is based on a mutual understanding between them and those who seek their service. This should prevail during the arrangements and until all the needs and desires have been satisfied.

WE REMEMBER when people took the time to serve others. As our communities have grown we have grown too, with more specialized services, such as out-of-town arrangements, pre-need options, non-traditional services, and cremations.

WE HAVE GROWN in order to keep pace with today’s world. However, our dedication to service is still the same as it was years ago when Thor started the business, far beyond expected.

WE ARE COMMITTED to continue the same philosophy of service – because some things should never change.

WE WISH TO ACCOMMODATE the families which we serve in every way possible. It is our sincere hope that those we serve always remain our closest friends. In 1972 Thor resigned as a social worker for the Wausua School District and moved back to Viroqua.  He purchesed the old motor parts building on Rusk Ave and Hwy 14, remodeled the building and turned it into a funeral home.  Over the years additional remodeling has been completed.  Currently, Thorson-Reetz funeral is one of the largest in the area. Stop and see our newly remodeled casket selection room and family reception area.
Even though the name on the sign and building has changed, Thor is still around but may not always be available to meet with families.
